La Nueva Era is located in the village of Jumaytepeque, Guatemala near Nueva Santa Rosa city. Situated on a mountain overlooking the cooperative, which is 50 hectares in size, the coffee delivered to the Nueva Era Natural annex is grown solely by Finca Tololoche.
For this natural processed coffee, the cherries picked are washed, then dried on the patio for four days without any turning or moving. Following this, they are moved between six and eight times each day for another four days or so, before final drying to the required moisture levels. The dried cherry is then collected and transported to the dry mill facilities of Fedecocagua, in Palin.
We're excited to bring back this wonderful coffee from Guatemala for a second run at Craft House. Once it lands in the Roastery we roast it in small batches, producing a rich body, mouthfuls of berry sweetness, and notes of cacao and hibiscus as it cools.
