Roast Breakdown
Roasting the origins separately allows for precise control over flavour development. This method enables us to tailor roast profiles to each beans' unique characteristics, minimising the risk of flavour dominance and ensuring optimal development for each component within the blend. The result is a more nuanced and complex profile.
We created this coffee blend with the intention of crafting something fun and festive that perfectly balances depth, sweetness, and acidity. We chose Brazil for its rich nuttiness and smooth chocolate flavour, which pairs beautifully with the Uganda, bringing in sweet, boozy cherry notes and even more chocolate complexity.
There were several experiments in the roastery as we fine tuned the blend percentages, roast developments, and batch sizes; we definitely consumed our fair share of caffeine in the process! After much trial and error and cups of coffee, we landed on a 50/50 blend of both origins to ensure the perfect harmony of flavours; creating a coffee that’s both rich, super sweet with just the right amount of brightness.
