Our Award-Winning Colombian Coffee Farmer.

Located at the foot of a mountain in Nariño, the farm El Muro is a family legacy. Inherited in part from his grandparents and expanded through Melky’s own hard work, the farm benefits from a unique micro-climate.
The geography allows solar rays to hit the coffee trees throughout the day, while the mountain provides a constant supply of water and rich organic nutrients. These conditions are the secret behind the ‘big coffee’ profile that has made El Muro a Global Coffee Award winner.
The CRAFTSTACK™ Relationship.
Our partnership with Melky is more than a single transaction. It’s a commitment. Through our CRAFTSTACK™ Branded Sacks initiative, we have purchased sixteen consecutive crops from El Muro. Ensuring Melky’s family receive a fair price and the stability to keep innovating, while giving us exclusive access to Colombian coffee that truly packs a punch.
Why El Muro is a shot above the rest.
In 2025 El Muro was awarded a Bronze Medal at the Global Coffee Awards in the "Single Origin Espresso" category. This is a massive achievement for a single farm and a testament to the meticulous washed preparation used by Melky.
What to Expect.
When you brew Colombia El Muro, you aren't just getting a standard ‘coffee-flavoured’ cup. It’s a high-altitude hit to the system. Grown at a staggering 2100 masl (metres above sea level), the beans are seriously dense and packed with complex sugars and a vibrant acidity that cuts through the noise.
- Tasting notes: Berries, Candy, and Treacle.
- Varietal: 100% Caturra.
- Roast level: Medium.
- Best for: While it shines as a single origin espresso, its "big" body and juicy berry notes make it equally impressive as a filter coffee or V60.
Summer vs. Winter Crops.
As relentless roasters of Colombian beans, we receive El Muro harvests all year round. However, the seasons change how we treat the beans:
- Summer Harvests: These have lower moisture content and require lower heat but higher airflow to manage the rate of rise.
- Winter Harvests: These need more ‘encouragement’ with higher burner temperatures to unlock those deep treacle notes.
Groundbreaking Colombian coffee.
Whether you are a long-time Colombian coffee loyalist or just getting your first taste of the specialty scene, our Colombian coffees are calling your name.
